It is a manual “wipe on” and “wipe off” material and, consequently, recommended for small areas. DR-60 may also be used for generally cleaning oily, dirty surfaces. Developers

d-100-aerosolD-100 Developer Non-aqueous developer consists of refined white particles suspended in isopropanol to give enhanced sensitivity for locating tight, incipient flaws; by solvent and capillary action, it pulls flaw-entrapped penetrant to part surfaces for display against a white background.

Sold in: 55 Gallon Drum, 5 Gallon Pail, 1 Gallon Can, Aerosol Case.

d-106-aerosolD-106 Developer consists of refined white particles suspended in acetone to give enhanced sensitivity for locating tight, incipient flaws; by solvent and capillary action, it pulls flaw-entrapped penetrant to part surfaces for display against a white background.

Sold in: 55 Gallon Drum, 5 Gallon Pail, 1 Gallon Can, Aerosol Case.

d-350-aerosolD-350 Developer – Non-aqueous Hi-Temp along with KO-17 Penetrant and KO-19 Remover comprise Sherwin Inc’s Hi-Temp Penetrant System, which works at temperatures above which ordinary penetrants are ineffective. D-350 developer consists of refined white particles suspended in isopropyl alcohol to give enhanced sensitivity for locating tight, incipient flaws. By solvent and capillary action, it pulls flaw-entrapped penetrant to part surfaces for display against a white background. It is not recommended for use at temperatures lower than 175F. At lower temperatures, D-350 dries more slowly. Also, the particles are more adhering at lower temperatures and require greater effort to remove upon completion of the inspection process. Removing D-350 requires wiping with water-dampened toweling.

Sold in: Aerosol Case.

d-110a-1D-110A.1 Dry Developer – Water Suspendible is a powdered mixture of white particles, inhibitors and wetting agents which is mixed before use with water to form a suspension of white particles. After application, it dries to a uniform white powder coating, and under black light inspection, reveals the location of cracks, pores, and similar surface flaws.

d-113g-1D-113G.1 Dry Developer – Water Soluble is a powdered mixture of white particles, inhibitors and wetting agents which is mixed before use with water where it forms a clear liquid. After application, it dries to a uniform white powder coating, and under black light inspection, reveals the location of cracks, pores, and similar surface flaws.

d-90-gD-90G Dry Developer is a dry developer powder used with Sherwin “RC” and “HM” designated flourescent penetrants. It amplifies the location of cracks, pores, and similar flaws by multiplying fluorescent brilliance. It also assists penetrant re-bleed back to the part surface, and stabilizes indications. The product m eet low-sulfur, low-halogen, and low-sodium requirements.

Emulsifiable

er-83a-gaER-83A Hydrophilic Emulsifier is a concentrated “detergent” used diluted with water to emulsify Sherwin’s fluorescent penetrants, such as the Sherwin “RC-” designated products. ER-83A removes surface, non-water-washable penetrants by spray or immersion following a pre-wash step. The product meets low-sulfur, low-halogen, and low-sodium requirements, has a flash point over 200F, and is an OSHA Class IIIB material.

Sold in: 55 Gallon Drum, 5 Gallon Pail, 1 Gallon Can.

er-85-gaER-85 Lypophilic Emulsifier is used in the inspection penetrant process to remove excess surface penetrant where the Method B, the lipophilic emulsifier method, is required. There is no “pre-wash” with this method, and the emulsifier is used full strength.

Sold in: 55 Gallon Drum, 5 Gallon Pail, 1 Gallon Can.
